For most of the life of Le Juste Prix, it aired seven days a week. On Monday-Saturday shows, half-hour episodes ended with the Big Wheel (La Roue) determining the player who would move on to the Sunday finals. Hourlong Sunday shows used the traditional format culminating in two players bidding on showcases.
By the time these photos were taken in the show’s final season with 2001, the format was modified to airing Monday-Friday for an hour. Two players advanced to the showcases, but only one showcase was shown. A range was randomly selected, and both contestants bid in secret; to win the showcase they had to both beat their opponent and land a bid within the winning range.
